Maria Cervales is a personal injury paralegal at Zneimer & Zneimer, P.C., where she handles mainly litigation work and assists with trial preparation for the firm. She had an idyllic upbringing in the Philippines, where she insulated herself from the inexorable heat within the pantheons of literature growing up. Considered her greatest hustle in life, Maria would borrow her friends’ library cards in high school to circumvent the three-book limit per student. She was a two-time class playwright for Jose Rizal plays, contributing editor for Tambuli, her school newspaper, and in her most cherished role yet, served as proofreader for friends’ essays and book reports.
She studied medical technology at Velez College while serving as Managing Editor for Vital Signs, the college newspaper. Her introduction to the legal court system of Chicago began with an internship at JusticeCorps at the Daley Center. Under the close supervision and mentorship of law partners Sofia Zneimer and Peter Zneimer, Maria Cervales gained a practical and analytical apprehension on the life cycle of personal injury cases, and the many moving parts involved from collecting bills and records in a timely manner, scouring these medical records, and managing client expectations, among others.
She continues to produce and write content when she’s not walking her miscreant of a dog.
